The Three Lions Bring Back Saka But Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden & Jack Grealish Are Left Out

Bukayo Saka in action

Bukayo Saka has netted 12 goals in 44 games for England.

The national side have included Bukayo Saka for next week's games versus Wales and Latvia, but there is no place for Bellingham, Foden or Jack Grealish.

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka missed the previous qualifier victories over Andorra and Serbia due to a hamstring injury.

Saka recently returned for Arsenal and scored in their victory over Olympiacos on Wednesday.

Saka replaces Arsenal team-mate Noni Madueke, who is out of action till next month because of a knee injury.

The Three Lions face Wales in a friendly at the national stadium on Thursday prior to a World Cup qualifier in Riga on 14 October.

If England win against Latvia, they will need a just two points from their final two qualifiers against Serbia and Albania in November to reach next summer's tournament in North America.

Leverkusen's Quansah comes in for Newcastle United’s Livramento, who is out for up to eight weeks after sustaining a knee injury versus the Gunners last weekend.

Elliot Anderson and Djed Spence, who received their maiden national team selections previously, retain their places. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also keeps his spot, even with the return to fitness of Wharton.

The attacker has only played a single match for the manager since taking over as England manager, because of fitness and hamstring injuries.

The midfielder was absent from the previous squad as he recovered from shoulder surgery and has managed just a single start for Real Madrid after coming back to fitness.

Foden was left out from Tuchel's previous selection following a loss of form and has been unsuccessful in returning, despite a strong start to the campaign with Manchester City.

The forward also misses out despite a revival in form on loan at Everton. The 30-year-old has not featured for the national team since last year.

'Focus on omissions over inclusions'

The manager’s new selection brings scrutiny on those the boss has left out rather than the included names.

Jude Bellingham's omission may cause surprise but the coach believes there is no need to recall the Madrid midfielder.

Manchester City's Foden and loanee Grealish have both performed well in the early stages of the season.

Those who the manager used in England's World Cup qualifier wins against Serbia and Andorra deserve the reward of continuity.

There will be regret that the Gunners’ Madueke is not involved due to a fitness issue.

The Forest player has settled well at international level.

The England boss is a fan of the attacker, in particular, and also Foden.

If there is one surprise, it comes in the exclusion of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

The star, of course, will be needed further down the line.
