The England manager has opted to stick with the identical England squad that secured victory against Andorra and produced a stellar performance in Serbia last month, finding no place for Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden in his group for the forthcoming friendly against the Welsh side and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.

Despite Foden making a strong case for a recall after rediscovering his form at Manchester City, and Jude Bellingham having made a comeback for Real Madrid following a surgical procedure, the head coach has opted not to selecting two of the country's biggest attacking talents. Bellingham has been in the starting lineup just a single time for his team since his comeback.

The England boss has made room for Bukayo Saka, who is fully recovered and has been reinstated in place of his injured club colleague the sidelined player. The experienced attacker has not been handed a recall.

The manager has opted against selecting a like-for-like substitute for the Magpies star but has included the Manchester City defender, who had to withdraw last month. Tuchel has discussed the centre-back's significance for England and has floated the idea of using him in midfield.

No spot has been found for the midfielder, who was selected last month but withdrew injured and was replaced by the Milan player.

Tuchel said: “A mere three weeks after the previous gathering and the last win, the last performance, so the question was why not bring the identical squad in because they established a benchmark. The focus now is on building routines out of it. We have regrettably two injuries at the moment with Tino and Noni and we bring of course the Arsenal forward in to replace Noni. Jarell Quansah was a last-minute addition previously; he will stay in camp.”
