Chalobah Set to Take Over from Guehi in Three Lions National Team
Trevoh Chalobah emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first pair of siblings to earn caps for the national team.
The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the Three Lions selection to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is scheduled to link up with the squad for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, but it has not yet been made public.
The Three Lions have already secured qualification for the upcoming competition.
Chalobah received his maiden invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against Senegal.
In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unfortunate to be excluded from the team for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally omitted him for the following October matches.
Tuchel has been an key influence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea first appearance in 2021.
Chalobah has appeared in nearly all games for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the club third in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi sustained a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over the Dutch side in their last match.
There are likely to be further inclusions to the selection. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the squad.
